INMO members ballot on industrial action

The ballot for industrial action in response to the delays and non-filling of nursing and midwifery posts has commenced. The INMO is organising workplace and regional meetings to give you all the information you need before you vote. Here you will find some sample questions and answers to help nurse/midwife representatives during the balloting period- it also sets out how nurses /midwives who want to join can do so and why it is important now.

The General Election is set to be called in the coming week. We need all political parties and individuals who aspire to be in Government to make firm commitments to safe nurse and midwife staffing. Knowing which of your local candidates will make the right decisions for you, your colleagues and our profession might not always be clear. That’s why we’re encouraging as many nurses and midwives as possible to speak with door-to-door party canvassers about the issues facing you and your colleagues.
