Ms. Anne Burke, Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife with a Diploma in Management, HDip in Critical Care and Specialist Certificate in Palliative Care, has been appointed by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) to provide services to its membership as Industrial Relations Officer for Galway, Longford and Westmeath. Anne will be replacing Claire Treacy who has moved to INMO Head Quarters in Dublin.
David Hughes, INMO Deputy General Secretary, welcomed the appointment of Anne Burke who he described as an experienced and committed nurse representative of long standing. He said, “Anne has served six years on the INMO Executive Council. She has a sterling record as an advocate for nurses and midwives. The experience Anne has gained on our Executive Council and while representing nurses in the busy Galway University Hospital has equipped her well as a negotiator with the necessary advocacy and communication skills to ensure INMO members continue to get top class service from the organisation.”
