Friday, May 12, 2017

Senior officers and officials, of the Irish Medical Organisation, Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation and Psychiatric Nurses Association, have agreed to meet, on next Tuesday, 16th May 2017, at INMO HQ to discuss the recently published report from the Public Service Pay Commission.

In the context of this report the forthcoming meeting will pay particular attention to the issues of recruitment and retention, and how they are currently impacting upon the nursing/midwifery and medical workforce, and its impact upon the delivery of care to patients.

The meeting will also consider how the recruitment/retention crisis, affecting all three professions, will be addressed in the context of the forthcoming talks, on public service pay, expected to commence within the next week/ten days.

The unions will hold a press briefing, after the meeting, in INMO HQ at 12.00 noon on next Tuesday, 16th May 2017.
