As previously advised the INMO, earlier today, held a national meeting, of ED Representatives from all Departments across the country, to review/discuss the revised proposals from the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC).
This meeting was attended by almost 40 representatives and involved a presentation and then a detailed question and answer session covering a range of issues/concerns.
The general feedback, from the meeting, included:
It was also decided, today, to extend the period, for these information meetings and balloting, which will now conclude on Thursday, 4th February 2016. The count of the ballot will now take place on Friday, 5th February 2016, with the result announced immediately thereafter. This should allow further opportunities, for information meetings, to ensure members have an opportunity to attend and be fully informed on what has now been put forward for their consideration.
The dates and times, for local Emergency Department information meetings and balloting, will be determined locally and made known to members in the coming days.
The next meeting of the National ED Implementation Group, of which I am joint chair, is scheduled for 12.00 noon tomorrow (Wednesday, 20th January 2016), at which a full review of the current situation, in all departments, will take place.
A further update will issue, after this meeting, so that ED members are kept fully appraised of all relevant developments.
Thank you for your attention to this note. I would once again encourage you to watch out for information meetings, in your department, and attend same when they are arranged.
With kind regards.
