WRC Convenes Review Of ED Agreement
Re: (i) National ED Representatives Meeting (ii) ED Section Meeting Rearranged
This is a note to advise you that the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), will commence its initial review, of the recent ED agreement, at 11.00 a.m. on Monday, 14th March 2016. This review will involve the WRC chairing a forum, involving the INMO/HSE/ Department of Health to consider the progress made on implementing all elements of the recent agreement.
To prepare for this review, and to consult with representatives from all Emergency Departments, a further national meeting of our ED Representatives has been arranged as follows:
Time: 12.00 noon
Date: Wednesday, 9th March 2016
Venue: INMO Head Office
Your local IRO will be in contact with all members, in your department, in the coming days to agree representatives, to attend these two meetings, as it is vital we hear, first-hand, how the agreement is being implemented. We will also be arranging, through our IROs, for special leave with pay to be provided for the representatives attending either or both of these meetings. In addition all members of the National ED Representative Committee have been notified of these two meetings and have been invited to attend on both days.
Ahead of these meetings the INMO will continue to engage, directly with the HSE/ Department of Health, on the implementation of the agreement including:
In the interim we will also continue, at local level, to ensure the weekly engagements, at hospital and group level, provided for under the recent agreement identify all issues and agree, consistent with the agreement, how they are addressed.
Thank you for your attention to this note and please bring it to the attention of all members in your department. I look forward to seeing, at least two representatives, from your department, at this important meeting on 9th March 2016.
Members are asked to note that the ED Section meeting, previously scheduled for Monday, 7th March 2016, will now take place in tandem with this national meeting on Wednesday, 9th March 2016.
