INMO Position Statement - Delegation. 02.04.15
Attn: INMO Members

1st April 2015

Dear Colleague

INMO Position Statement Delegation

As you aware the issue of delegation, and the responsibilities that continue to rest with the registered nurse/midwife who decides to delegate any task/function, has, and is, a matter of ongoing concern to every member.

In that context the Organisation’s Executive Council has, for the assistance of members, drawn up a position statement, on delegation, which is enclosed.

In this statement the Organisation has sought to clearly identify the responsibilities, that rest with the individual registered nurse/midwife, when delegating, and the need to be absolutely confident with regard to the decision to delegate.

The Executive Council is now formally requesting that you would display the attached position statement, on a relevant noticeboard, in your employment, and bring it to the attention, of members, as quickly as possible.  In addition the full position statement will appear in the April edition of the World of Irish Nursing and Midwifery journal.

Thank you, in advance, for your full co-operation with this request which is greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely

LIAM DORAN
General Secretary
