The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has called on the HSE to outline how it plans to ensure that emergency care will be prioritised in Cork during the Status Yellow weather warning for the county. 

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has called for special measures to be taken, including the cancellation of all non-urgent elective care in University Hospital Limerick in light of weather warnings in the Midwest region.

INMO members are holding a protest at lunchtime today (Wednesday) at University Hospital Galway, alongside colleagues in Fórsa and SIPTU trade unions, to protest the implementation of the HSE’s recent Pay and Numbers Strategy.

The ballot for industrial action in response to the delays and non-filling of nursing and midwifery posts has commenced.
