The Staff Panel of the ICTU Healthcare Unions met with the HSE on the 25^th of July 2024 regarding the Pay & Numbers Strategy which was announced on the 10^th of July 2024. 

Healthcare unions have written to the HSE today regarding the proposed Pay and Numbers Strategy announced by the HSE last week. The NJC Staff Panel of Trade Unions have expressed concern over the lack of consultation over the proposed strategy.

Following extensive lobbying by the INMO and its members, we have been notified by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform that it has confirmed to the Department of Health the sanction to apply the revised PHN/CNM2/CNMM2 salary scale to the linked grades. We have been advised that the formal documentation will go to the Department of Health early next week to action this sanction. 

Over 67,452 patients, including 1,418 children, have been admitted into Irish hospitals so far in 2024 according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
