INMO members vote in favour of industrial action

Following a secret ballot conducted in person between 15th October and 26th of November, INMO members have voted in favour of industrial action. The breakdown of votes was as follows:

  • 95.6% voted in favour
  • 3.4% voted against,
  • Less than 1% of votes were spoiled

As required under the INMO rule book, two-thirds of those that were balloted voted in favour of the action.

The next steps include the INMO Executive Council considering this outcome and then over the next two weeks we will liaise with other health sector trade unions who have balloted their members.  We will issue a further update once the Executive Council have considered the result and all healthcare unions who have balloted return their results.

For the moment, we are not instructing members to take any action until all health sector unions who have balloted their members have completed their counting process.
