As you may be aware over the last few weeks we have been engaged in negotiations, at the WRC, with representatives of various Government Departments to attempt to negotiate a further agreement on pay for workers in Section 10, 39, 40 and 56 Organisations.
While some progress has been in the negotiations, a number of challenges remain relating to defining the scope of any proposed agreement and to whom it might apply. We have also been unable to secure a commitment, to date, that would give us the confidence that pay relationships that previously existed would be restored.
The WRC has requested that the parties reflect on their current positions and that we will reconvene on the morning of the 30th August 2024.
In the meantime, it has been agreed that there will be further direct engagement between the unions, the HSE and the Dept of Health in relation to outstanding issues on the implementation of the October 2023 agreement, in particular for, GP Out of Hours and Home Care Tendered Services.
