Share Your Experience: Caring for Patients on Trolleys Survey

The challenges of overcrowding in Irish hospitals continue to place immense pressure on nurses, particularly when it comes to caring for patients on trolleys. Your voice and experiences are vital in shaping the conversation around these issues and advocating for better solutions.

General Election

The General Election is set to be called in the coming week. We need all political parties and individuals who aspire to be in Government to make firm commitments to safe nurse and midwife staffing. Knowing which of your local candidates will make the right decisions for you, your colleagues and our profession might not always be clear. That’s why we’re encouraging as many nurses and midwives as possible to speak with door-to-door party canvassers about the issues facing you and your colleagues.

Commencement of ballot for industrial action in the public sector

As you are aware the INMO, and the other Unions have been objecting to the employment control process currently in place, referred to by the HSE as “Pay & Numbers Strategy”. As a result of this Pay & Numbers Strategy posts within the services which you work are not being filled or replaced.  In addition, the number of staff within your Departments and Units is being further reduced by the number of vacancies that existed but were not occupied within the HSE at the end of December 2023...
