Hospital overcrowding out of control in Cork City – INMO

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has called for a bespoke plan to tackle overcrowding in Cork City as overcrowding records have been broken in Cork University Hospital (92) and Mercy University Hospital (40) with 132 patients have been admitted to hospital without a bed across both sites.

Measures must be taken to avoid post-Easter trolley surge

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has called on the HSE to take specific steps ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend to avoid overcrowding. This comes as 582 patients have been admitted to hospital without a bed today. 

635 on trolleys today – new overcrowding record in CUH

635 patients are without a bed in Irish hospitals today according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation. This includes 90 patients in Cork University Hospital, a new overcrowding record for that hospital.

709 patients go without hospital beds

709 patients are on hospital trolleys today according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation. 533 patients are waiting in an emergency department, while 176 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
