The INMO’s elected Executive Council has today (Monday) suspended the upcoming strikes, following a recommendation from the Labour Court.

Nurses, midwives, friends, patients and supporters will march through Dublin from 12:30pm tomorrow (Saturday 9th Feb), in support of striking nurses and midwives.  The march will call on the government to make serious proposals to resolve the industrial dispute.

Reacting to a press statement from the Ministers for Finance and Health, the INMO have confirmed that they have still received no offer or proposals to avert tomorrow’s strike.

The INMO has announced an escalation and additional dates for the nurses and midwives’ strike, in the face of the government’s refusal to meaningfully engage with the union.

Over 10,000 admitted patients were forced to wait without hospital beds in January 2019, according to a new monthly analysis by the INMO. 

The INMO today (Friday) thanked local businesses and the public for their kind support of nurses and midwives on the picket lines on Wednesday.
